What is Neuromodulation?

Neuromodulation therapy delivers mild electrical pulses called stimulation to nerve pathways associated with migraine.

Stimulation is intended to interrupt or change pain signals, potentially decreasing the frequency and/or pain severity associated with migraine attacks.

What does the study involve?

There are 4 phases in the RELIEV-CM2 study.

1. Assessment Phase

Complete a 28-day headache diary to determine if you are a suitable candidate for the study.

2: Trial Phase

Undergo a short procedure where temporary leads will be inserted beneath the skin near targeted nerves in the head.
You'll be able to try the therapy to determine if a permanent implant is a good choice for you. The trial system is removed after a about a week.

3: Implant Phase

Undergo a minimally invasive surgical procedure where two implantable stimulators and leads will be placed beneath the skin. Once healed, the system will be virtually undetectable to others.

4: Use & Follow Up Phase

Use the therapy 24 hours a day 7 days a week (if desired). You'll charge the system weekly using a handheld charger and headset, and continue to have regular appointments with your study doctor to monitor your progress.
